Coach Training

Our first coach training opportunity will occur August 23rd. We will have U8 to U12 training at Faith UMC.

You can also take Safe Haven, U8, and U10 training online at http://www.aysotraining.org/index.htm. We want everyone to have an opportunity either online or in a training session to feel comfortable with the necessary information that they need to be successful and safe in AYSO.

Please contact your division coordinator or Russ if you would like to take additional training. Check the calendar page for more information on additional training times both with our region and others.

Russ Wise
Coach Administrator

I would like to continue my term as Coach Administrator by saying how excited I am to work with all the coaches in Region 337. I have been coaching soccer in this region since 2000 and I hope that I can help you all along the way with any questions that you may have. I am a firm believer in the AYSO philosophies and I want all the teams to be fair and balanced. AYSO is not set up to allow people to create and try out teams to go play competitively. I think there is a place for both AYSO and the local traveling teams, but if you want the experience of the latter, you need to go play with the competitive clubs. Teams that dominate other teams consistently will now be put on notice that we will have to find another solution that makes our divisions more balanced and fair for all players.

The other focus that I would like to help with is with training. We will be offering several training times to make sure that everyone has the information that they need to coach at the appropriate levels. We will let everyone know in advance when we are offering training, as well as information about training dates for other regions.

I look forward to a fun season and I am willing to help in anyway I can.

In our region we have a standard that once you are up by 5 goals, you are to pull back. We realize that some people do not always agree with this policy, but to stay within the AYSO philosophies, we feel that this is a necessary standard, please click the link below to find out more about this.

How and Why do I pull back?

Do you hate filling out game cards? The AYSO Help web page has an Adobe version of the game cards. You can fill one out directly on the page that opens, just click and type... then the rest of the page fills in the data. You simply print two copies and your season is done! It is a breeze. Click HERE to open the Game Card page. If you would like instructions you can click here.

Don't forget to check the calendar to see area training opportunities.

All coaches, assistant coaches, and referees MUST fill out a volunteer form. You will not receive your players forms until you have filled out the volunteer form. Please make sure to fill this out on eAYSO to save the volunteers time in typing in all of your information. Make sure to print copies to turn in to the CVPA's, this needs to be done for assistant coaches as well.
