Week 8 of the spring season was typical of the whole season. It rained, stormed, sunny, cool, hot all in 1 day. With the Volunteer day Sunday, and some other things this is the first chance I have had to write the weekly report.
The U6 Jamboree was a success for the ones that showed up and got to do the stations. I heard a comment that next year we should let the U6 have a game with the BIG ball and the U10 goals. The kids really had a blast with the BIG ball.
The concession stand did OK considering how the day was. A lot of teams had their team parties, filled up the trash can at the pavilion. The ones 30 feet away were empty, it seemed it was easier to set the trash on the ground than to carry it 30 feet. I cheated, I pulled a empty can up and put it next to the full one. Some folks still tried to add trash to the full one. Beats me. Jim, Jeff and Mike got the cans emptied on Sunday. Thanks guys.
The games that got to play went well, I did not hear any reports of problems. The storm that came through around 4:30 pm canceled the 5:00 games. But by 5:30 it was clear again.
Ty and Mary were signing up teams for Soccerfest, Laura's cake walk got moved to the pavilion. Some folks were buying the cakes they donated. What was left over the Region bought for the Volunteer day.
Several teams were selling things for the Section 5 games. Doughnuts, wrist-bands, etc. We have a lot of teams planning to go, I wish them good luck.
Soccerfest is next weekend, then the Area 5B games, the first Soccer Camp, Section Games, even when it is over we are still busy.
I want to thank all the coaches, referees, board members and volunteers that helped during this season. Without them we could not pull it off. Thank You all.
Enjoy the summer, the Fall season is just around the corner and we do it all again.
