Well the Fall 2007 season has come to a close. Saturdays games where the last regular season game for 2007. Over all the season was a good one, yes we had some drama, a couple of injuries, but also a lot of fun.
We had the same referees come out and do games David Hewitt, Todd Parrott, Tony Buhl, Kelsie Shipley, David Lister. Some others I saw were, Bill Mize, Mike Horner, Mike Moody, Catrina Clark, and Alan Ballenger. Thanks to all that came out and did games. David Holt (Area 5B Referee Admin) was doing an assessment on a U16 game. Troy Smith, Mike Horner and Sadie Izo where assessed. I am sure they all did well.
Michael Mays (Area 5B Director) stopped by and watched a little of the U16 game. His son was in the car so he did not stay long.
There were several games canceled or rescheduled. But the games that were played were very good. There was a U19 game that ended in a tie, a very close U16 game and some close U8 and U10 games that I heard about.
Several teams held their team parties. It was good to see all the smiling faces as the kids got their trophy's. I had some coaches come up and say thanks for a great season, and they would be back in the spring.
So THANKS to everyone that helped out to make this season a success. From the time we mailed out the newsletters, through registration, building the teams, getting the fields ready to putting way the last corner flag, it could not have been done with out you. I do want to thank Michelle French and the parents of Jason French's U8 team. They showed up Friday and lined ALL the fields, not just the U8. Thank You.
I also want to thank all the teams with the last games who brought their corner flags to the building and the U6 coaches that brought up their goals.
Concession sales have been down the last 2 weeks due to the Fall break. With fewer teams playing parking was not a major problem. We need to look at more parking once the construction starts, we may lose the small overflow lot.
Anyway it was a good season over all. I hope everyone enjoys the winter break and you have a safe and happy holiday season. Spring registration will be in January, on line registration will open after New Years. The spring season will start in early March.
Till then, take care, we will see you on the fields in the spring.
