Well it is over, week 8 of the Fall 2004 season is coming to a close. From all accounts things went well. The weather was good, better than last week. Some games were played early. It has been hard to write this one, in a way I am glad it is over, in another way I am going to miss seeing some of the smiling faces that greeted me each week (adults and kids).
The concession stand did well enough to take care of our security officer. The shaved ice folks made us $15.
The pictures were in and passed out for the most part. Thanks to Theresa Gray, and I am sure others for getting them out.
There was a sign-up table for indoor soccer staffed my Mandy Wilshire and co.(her kids). I think we had 20+ sign up. There will be more as parents think about it.
We had a minor problem (MAJOR to some of us) on Saturday. Georgia Tech must have been in town because the yellow jackets were everywhere. As I said a minor problem for most, Liesl Harrison and I both took direct hits on the back of the neck. Let me tell you it is a MAJOR pain in the neck! That I will not miss next Saturday.
From what I could tell all the games had referees. Thanks to all that came out and did games on Saturday.
Some of the trash cans were full, others almost empty, all had yellow jackets in them. Someone suggested that the yellow jackets were attracted by all the yellow and black striped shirts running around.
We had a few things left on the field. Soccer balls, a coat, etc.
All that is left is to put up the U6 goals and corner flags till the spring.
Thanks for a great season, the kids had fun. Spring registration is Jan. 29, 2005.
