Board members,

Well it was over cast and we got a little rain in the morning, but the day turned out to be a great day for soccer. The sun came out and everyone played.

The security officer told me he got 86 cars in again, still working on beating his best. We may have to help and buy some shoe horns or cut down another tree. It would help if we could get the loads of gravel that we have been offered. If anyone knows of someone with a tandem dump truck let me or John know.

Folks must have read the webpage because none of the trash cans were over flowing. Thanks to Dennis Earl and his team parents, they emptied the trash cans.

Some of you may have seen the pop corn machine at the concession area. Inskip Safety Patrol asked if they could sell popcorn. I gave them the OK, because it would not hurt the concession stand. If fact it may have helped, nothing hits the spot after a mouthful of hot, salty, buttery popcorn, than a ice cold coke or bottle of water. I hope the Inskip kids did well.

Back in the 60s there was a song "Where have all the flowers gone ?", well Saturday it could have been changed to "Where have all the referees gone ?". While a lot of games were covered, Steve Drummer and others had to scramble to get games covered. I don't know the referees name that stepped up to do his first U12 center (U12 boys 1:00 pm) but I do know the 2 that stepped up to cover my U12 girls game at 1:00 pm. Lynn and Amy Waller it was their first U12 game (Lynn was CR, Amy AR). All three were first year referees, and had only done U10 games. I think they did a great job, as well as all the referees that did games on Saturday. All the upper division games were covered. I know David Holt did back to back U14 centers. We just need to find a way to get the ones that are not doing games to step up and do at least 1 game on Saturday.

I don't normally talk about my games, but I have to now. I was short on players for my U12 girls game. I picked up Lynn and Amy Wallers daughter Jordan (she was there and wanted to play). She is a first year U10. She played her heart out. But what I wanted to bring out was, we got stomped - bad. The girls had played as hard as they could, when we were lining up the tell the other team "Good Game". I told the girls that they all played well, and hold their heads up. One of the girls said "Coach it's OK, we had fun". I got paid Saturday, that is what it is all about.

The lost and found got some interesting items. A pair of sun glasses, a set of cleats, socks and shin-guards, a diaper bag (with diapers, clean), a 2 gallon water cooler, a cell phone, a sweatshirt, and 3 soccer balls. The cell phone has been returned, the rest is in the storage building.
As a side note the VIP kids played on Friday, Suzanne and Crystal had their hands full, we have more kids than in the spring. If you can help out on Fridays, please do so. We can use you lining fields, or working with the VIP kids.

Lastly, you may have noticed the 2 big cards. One was for Abram Mcmahan, he is in Children's Hospital. A very sick U8 player. The other is for one of our U6 players (Abby) he house burned down last week. The Region provided her with a new jersey, shin-guards, cleats, shorts and socks for the recycled equipment.

A donation can was set up, over $200 was collected. Vicki Easterday and Crystal Jones are taking care of it. Several parents asked if the families needed anything, several offered clothes, kitchen items, etc.

It is so good to see, that we have such a great bunch of folks AYSO, and Region 337.

Thank you.
