Well we tried. After getting frozen and snowed out for the first week of the spring 2008 season, we tried for week 2. The rain held off Friday night and Saturday morning. I had sent a request to Mother Nature to have the storm at 5:30 pm. Mother Nature had other plans. We got the 9 am and 10:30 games in. My U8 had a 10:30 am game and we had just finished the 3rd quarter when the lightning hit.
Russ Wise did get some of the new coaches shirts passed out, I handed out some of the new referee coins and Regional pins. Mike Moody and Chris Bayless sold around $600 worth of jerseys.
There was a good U14 girls game at 9 am. Darrell White and Joe Snyder tied 0 - 0, I did not hear about any of the other games.
No scheduled games this Saturday, because of Easter. There may be some makeup games if the weather is nice, teams have referees and they don't mind playing on Saturday. Maybe March 29th we will get to play.
