The Uniroyal fundraiser is going very well. There are still soccer balls available at Uniroyal: lots of size 5 balls and a few size 4 balls.

Lady Vols soccer game tickets are on sale. They are for the Friday, September 28th game. The tickets are $4.00 each and our region gets to keep $2.00 for each ticket sold. Please contact Amanda Hart or Amy Waller for details.

We currently have $66,060.00 in the bank.

EVERYONE needs to obtain a P.O. # for any significant purchases that are charged to the region. NO exceptions!!!!!

The CVPA reported that most volunteer forms have been completed, but that some are still needed. The CPVA requested that the Division Coordinators to compile lists of all coaches and team parents to ensure that all volunteers have a form on file.

A list was distributed of the number of players and volunteers in Section 5, broken down by Region and Area. Our region currently has 185 registered volunteers. We currently have 882 registered players for the fall season.

Mary Davis needed to know if Oak Ridge had an AYSO region. George reported that they did and that it was AYSO Region 390. Sharon recommended that if anyone was unsure of a region in a particular area, that this information is on EAYSO.

The refund policy was discussed again. Sharon Wise made a motion that NO REFUNDS are to be given unless a written request is made in writing to the RC. The request will be reviewed and approved or disapproved by a committee of three board members. Each request will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Only absolutely extenuating circumstances will be considered for a refund. Kerry Patterson seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a majority of the board.
(Note: We will continue to follow the National Standard guidelines for refunds, until our guidelines are reviewed and approved by Area, Sectional and National).

Leslie Goins wishes to continue to coach the VIP league, but cannot attend the board meetings and does not wish to be involved with the administrational duties. George Burgess suggested that Melanie Norman become the VIP coordinator and attend the board meetings. All agreed.

Cat Seagle raised the question of how people are notified about the VIP league. Most agreed that it was by word of mouth. However the suggestion was brought up to send flyers at registration time to special educations classes to the schools in our region.

Registration forms for VIP players do need to be completed!!!

Referee training classes are scheduled for September 20 and 21, 2007. Bill Mize and Kerry Patterson are searching for a location to hold these classes.

Russ Wise started the skills training tonight, September 14, 2007. The skills training are held at the fields. The turnout was not great. Pete Whitaker will be helping out Russ with these sessions.

The county will break ground at the fields on October 22, 2007 for Phase I of the additions to the Tommy Schumpert park.

The U6 parents and coaches were very upset at last weeks games because there were no goals available for their games. So, pop up goals have been ordered for the U6 fields. Old goals will be used until the new ones arrive.

John Merritt will be at the fields on game day to take action photos. If you want shots of a specific team and/or player, please let him know.

The question was raised regarding who was responsible to empty the trash cans. George said that the Knox County inmates normally do it. They were supposed to have emptied them today, September 14, 2007, but were unable to due to rain.

Russ Wise suggested that we pay the Hawaii team to empty them in order for them to earn money for their trip. Sharon Wise said that she would have to check to see if it would be allowed/appropriate for the region to do that.

It was also brought up that all coaches, players and parents need to be reminded to pick up their trash after every game and practice!!!!!!!!

The tall grass in the overflow parking area was addressed. George said that he would check with Mr. Pevey (sp?),our lawn maintenance man, to make sure that it will get done. Sharon Wise said that she would include a note in his next invoice payment.

The next board meeting will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at FUMC.
