The first item on the agenda was the Registrars report. Cat Seagle reported that we have 831 players registered, we expect a few more. Cat also requested that we start using the note field in eAYSO for special information.
The second item on the agenda was the treasurer’s report. Sharon Wise reported that we have around $35,000 in the bank. Sharon said we would be writing a check to National for $4000 for player fees. Remember to get a purchase order from Sharon before buying anything.
Next was Angela Lister’s report on the player jerseys. We are low on Adult Large and Adult Small jerseys. We will look at going with a new supplier. The shipping cost is way too high and the company is not easy to work with. Angela brought up the old reversible jerseys. None of the players want them; we have been giving them to the scholarship players. We still have a lot in sizes we don’t need. It has been recommended that we donate them to a needy region. We will also be looking at the job title for Angela’s position. It is unclear exactly what she is responsible for.
Ty Barnes and Mary Davis reported that most of the volunteers have turned in forms. There are a few that Ty or Mary will get soon. We currently show 146 volunteers in Region 337. Ty presented the list of volunteers for board approval. The list was approved as presented.
Division commissioner’s reports:
U10-Sharon reported that everything is going great.
Chris Mott reported on the fields. The fields look good, the fertilizer has done wonders. Chris recommended that we look at putting gutters on the pavilion to control the rain run off. We will get some estimates and report back to the board. Chris will also post some NO PARKING signs in the turn around lane. We have to keep this area open for emergency vehicles.
A request has been made that we revisit the tobacco use under the pavilion. After some discussion, the board voted to ban all tobacco use, smoking, and chewing, dipping, etc. under the pavilion and paved walks ways on game days. Tobacco use is only permitted in the parking lot.
Amy Waller reported that the Lady Vols AYSO day is October 13th. AYSO players can get in free to the Lady Vols Soccer game if they wear their AYSO jersey.
The Regional Commissioners Report:
George reported that the region is in a lawsuit over a fall that occurred in 2005. Anyone with information should contact George.
The Nomination Committee recommended two new board members, Rebecca and Drew
Burt. They helped out at registration and would like to become more involved.
The board voted to accept them as Members at Large.
The Nomination Committee also recommended some names for the Player Representative
position. In the discussion that followed, the board tabled the recommendations
till the position could be further defined. Some of the items brought up were.
