George Burgess, Regional Commissioner, called the August board meeting for AYSO Region 337 to order at 7 p.m., September 8, 2004 at Lee Stewart Fields.

Board members in attendance were; George Burgess, Pat Burgess, Rich Guy,
Teresa Guy, Russ Wise, Sharon Wise, John Harbison, Sandra Harbison, Tyina Barnes,
Terry Wilshire, Vicki Easterday, Steve Drummer, Jeff Wolfenbarger, and Mindy Myers.

The fields are almost ready for the opening of the fall season on September 11. The flagpole is in the ground. A big THANK YOU to Jim Favaro and helpers for getting it installed. Stan has mowed 1 field and will get the rest before Saturday. We need anyone that is able to come out on Thursday and Friday to help get the fields lined. John has 2 more port-a-potties ordered.
We have ordered new corner flags for all the fields (U8 – U19) and they should be in Friday.
All the jerseys are in and will be available for sale on Saturday. Help out selling jerseys if you can.
We have the drawing for the concrete pad (for the concession stand/bathrooms). But we will be unable to get the pad poured till after the Fall season.
We got in the safety stickers for all the goals. Rick Parker will see that they are put on before the games on Saturday.
The Overflow parking lot will need to be bush-hogged before Saturday.
We will have a flag-raising ceremony at 8:45 am Saturday. Dat Tran and Vicki Easterdays scout troops have volunteered to raise the flag. Members of the Tennessee Honor Guard will also be present. Sandra has arranged for a bugler (student from Central HS). Referees have been asked to start each game with a moment of silence before each game, in memory of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
All board members are requested to wear your blue shirts. New shirts are on order.
The VIP program will start on September 17. They will be divided into two groups according to their size.
We have 916 players at this time, with more to come. There are 110 teams this season.
Tyina says we still need volunteer forms from coaches, assistant coaches, referees and even board members. There is currently a problem with eAYSO, but Ty has 116 forms turned in to National. Get your forms in.
Steve Drummer reported that the instructors at the regional referee-training course were impressed with the number if folks that came out for the training. We had 40 take the training course. Some were U8 and some were Regional. We can always use more referees. The referee uniforms are on order and will be given out when the new referee signs up to do a game.
We will be setting up a monthly financial worksheet. More on this next month.
We need to send a check to National for all the players we have registered. Let George know if you have any dropouts, so we do not pay for them.
The Board decided to stay with the 3 before 4 guideline. The guideline is everyone plays 3 quarters before anyone plays 4 quarters. There are allowances for a player to only play 2 quarters. But it is the player that makes the choice, not the coach.
We need a policy on selling stuff at the fields. Until then we will stick with allowing only players in our region (scouts). We also need to get some No Soliciting signs.

If anyone know anyone with a dump truck please let George know. We have 5 loads of gravel and need a way to get them to the fields.

The next stated board meeting will be October 14, 2004. The meeting place will be announced. The meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully Submitted,

Pat Burgess
