The October board meeting for Region 337 was held on October 12,2006 at Faith United Methodist Church. Board members attending were: George Burgess, Pat Burgess, Russ Wise, Cat Seagle, Lynn Waller, Amy Waller, Tyina Barnes, Mary Davis, Kellie Gilliam, Liesl Harrison, Rich Guy, Vickie Easterday, Drew Burt, Becky Burt and Becky Kaman.

Spring registration is scheduled for January 20, 2007 at Central High School from 10:00a.m. until 2:00p.m. Russ Wise will take care of arrangements for us to be at the school that day.
A report from the treasurer that we have $31,316.00 balance in bank account.
CVPA (Tyina Barnes) stated all Volunteer forms have been sent to national. Any that were incomplete were destroyed. Terry Wilshire and Bill Mize were notified of any coaches or referees that had insufficient information on form.
Division Coordinators for U6 Easterday) reported all is well.
In the U10 division Russ Wise reports all is well except for some re-scheduling for make-up games. The division Coordinators are responsible for assigning fields for those games. Gresham Middle School and Halls Middle use the fields for their games and have already been assigned to fields for their games.
George re-introduced Drew and Becky Burt as new members-at-large. Rebecca Kaman was also introduced as a new board member.
The Section 5 games (have been played in S.C. for the last several years) will be in Knoxville for 2007. The Area staff is in charge of the tournament. Games will be the last weekend in June (Fathers day weekend).
The Region has a policy that will be in force for any non-AYSO group. A field-use form MUST be signed before they can use the fields. For any event that the Region conducts we must have a certificate of-insurance on file where the event is to be held.
The year 2007 the region will be 25years old. The region was piloted in January 1982 and chartered in March 1983. The question of “do we want to have any type of celebration” was suggested and George told all to be thinking about it.
The board member appreciation dinner will be December 10 at 6:00 p.m. at Ryan’s on Cedar Lane. Please let George know if you plan on attending.
Mike Fitzpatrick donated a lightning detector to the region. It is very helpful if ever in question about clearing fields when a storm is approaching. The safety director has enough money in their budget to purchase one for the safety director to use on game days. Thank you Mike for a very helpful gadget.
The question of Soccerfest was brought up. There are some other options for our one and only fundraiser. We could have a dribble, pass and shoot competition or a 3V3 on a U6 field. Any ideas and someone willing to take charge needs to step forward.
Russ and Sharon Wise are stepping down as U10 division coordinators. They are also camp coordinators, and will be giving that up as well.
THANK YOU to RUSS and Sharon for all your hard work that you both do for region 337.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30p.m.
