The board welcomed three new board members: Lynn Waller, as Regional Projects
Manager, Amy Waller, as Assistant VIP Coordinator, and Liesl Harrison, as Assistant
Kid Zone Coordinator.
Indoor Soccer season will be starting Nov. 20. Vernon Corum and Laura Walters
will be running it. Vernon will handle the U10, U12, & U14 season, Laura
will take care of the U6 and U8 season. Cost is $30 with $15 going to the YMCA
for use of the field. Parking is a real problem at the YMCA. Some suggestions
include no practice, just games, urge parents to car pool. Check the website
for more information.
All the Division Commissioners reported that their divisions are doing fine.
The Under 12 division needs more parent referees, the Under 14 division needs
more teams.
The fields are being lined. Thanks to parents, coaches, and board members. Lynn
Waller is going to see about getting the metal storage building moved. Thanks
to Dennis Earls U12 team parents for keeping the trash cans emptied after their
games.
Terry Wilshire, Coach Administrator plans to have coaches training before the
Spring season. We do not want to have happen what happened this year, where
half way in to the season we find out coach does not have any training. Coaches
need to be aware that no earrings are allowed.
We have sent National a request to see if the kid zone forms can be added into
eAYSO and printed at the same time as registration. National is looking in to
it.
We have 153 volunteer registration forms in the system. We have 8 online that
are being held up by National and 13 that are missing information. We have 6
board members that have not filled out volunteer forms. There have been repeated
requests from the CVPA and RC to get the forms. There was a discussion about
Jo Long, as Player Equipment Recycler. The board voted not to accept her as
a board member due to an incident observed by two long standing board members.
A motion was made to accept the volunteer list as submitted by the CVPA with
the adjustments. The board also voted to remove the 6 former board members that
have not submitted volunteer forms.
At the November board meeting, the board will appoint/reappoint 3 of the 6 executive
board positions. The positions up for appointment are Regional Commissioner,
Treasurer, and Safety Director. The other 3 executive positions have just taken
their positions and will serve a 3 year term. The 3 positions are Coach Administrator,
Referee Administrator, and Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA). Any
board member can fill one of the positions. The only one that has a prerequisite
is the Regional Commissioner. You must have served at least 1 year as an Assistant
RC. Eligible persons are, Mike Compton, Mindy Myers, Bryon Easterday, Vicki
Easterday, Sharon Wise, Russ Wise, and George Burgess (current RC). Anyone appointed
to Treasurer or Safety Director must complete the training at the next section
meeting.
The 2005 section meeting will be in Atlanta, Georgia on February 4 – 6,
2005.
Please let George know if you would like to attend. Also if you plan to drive
or wish to car pool. The Section meeting is not a paid vacation, it is for training
of volunteers. Volunteers who have their way paid by the region must attend
training sessions. Volunteers who wish to take spouses and kids who are not
active volunteers can pay their way (registration for the meeting and meals).
The spouses can stay in the same room. If you just want a vacation you can use
the discount the region gets on the hotel room. The board voted that they will
approve a list of persons that can attend.
These minutes were kept by Sharon Wise, due to the absence of the Pat Burgess,
Regional Secretary (school).
Respectfully Submitted,
Pat Burgess
