It was brought to the boards attention that the former Treasurer still has some
of the Treasurers records (including unpaid bills, checks and check ledgers, laptop
computer, cash boxes, etc.). The region has made repeated attempts to contact
the former Treasurer to get the items that belong to the region. The board is
aware that she has recently moved and that is hold up as reported by Mindy Myers.
Terry Wilshire made a motion that we request all items be returned to the region
by November 18, one week from this meeting. The motion was seconded and the board
voted unanimously to approve the motion. Mindy Myers will convey the message.
Amy Waller reported on the VIP program. Flyers will go out to all the special
education classes in Knox County schools, to let them know about our VIP program.
Crystal Jones older kids will be playing in the spring.
Mandy Wilshire reported on registration for indoor soccer. She will be adding
the names in eAYSO as the registrations come in.
Vernon Corum reported on the indoor program, so far we have about 13 teams. There
will be a coaches meeting Nov. 16th. We will need to buy some indoor balls from
the YMCA. We will get 5 size 4 balls, and 5 size five balls. Some players will
need to buy jerseys.
It was brought to the board attention that we need to be thinking ahead for Spring
registration. We need to order registration and volunteer forms. Spring registration
will be held at Central High School on January 29th 2005, from 10 am till 2 p.m.
Also to help out Abram McMahan, Medic will hold a blood drive during registration.
Theresa Gray (acting Treasurer) gave a regional financial report. She can not
do much without all the records. But we have $16,168.30 on the checking account,
and $6,600 in the savings account. National has been paid for the Fall registrations
($11,197.75). Theresa has been calling all the folks we do business with and changing
our billing address to the Region P.O. Box. Everyone one needs to start working
on a budget for the 2005 Fall/Spring season. We have to submit it to National
by June 1, 2005.
Eric Jones reported we need to order some XL youth jerseys for the Spring season.

several issues including a shortage of referees.

season. The U19 team went undefeated. Our U14 division had 4 U14 boys teams and
2 Under 14 girls teams. Two of the teams, Greg Giles/Bill Mize U14 girls (Lady
Strikers) and George Burgess, Jeannie Clifton, Keith Barnes U14 boys (No Parking)

John Harbison reported the fields are in good shape. John is going to get an aerator
(plug type) for next weekend. Him and Steve Gray could use some help closing the
fields for the winter. Steve is going to keep marking the corners and other points
on the fields during the winter. This will make it easier to open the fields in
the spring. John said some of the U6 goals need to be replaced. John will decide
which ones. Clinch Powell Construction has donated 100 tons of crusher run gravel,
for the overflow parking area. Lynn and Amy Waller know someone who can haul the
rock. Lynn has a wrecker lined up to move the metal building as soon as weather
permits.
Terry Wilshire reported that all the coaches are trained and have Safe Haven course.
He will be sending a letter of appreciation to the coaches. Thanking them for
donating their time. Bryon Easterday will be teaching a U6 coaches course before
the Spring season. Terry will be doing a U8 and U10 course. Victor Gosnell will
be getting his Instructors training at the Section meeting in February. The board
had a discussion on the problem with the U8 coach. The board decided not to accept
his volunteer form for the spring. Terry has talked with the Area Coach Administrator,
and the Area will stand behind us on any decision we make.
Safety Director Rick Parker reported that we had 3 reportable accidents. All have
been reported to National. Overall we had a good season safety wise.
The election of executive officers was held for the positions of Regional Commissioner,
Treasurer and Safety Director. All have completed their 3 year terms and can be
reelected or replaced. The results of the election by the board of directors present
are: George Burgess is re-appointed as Regional Commissioner, Theresa Gray was
elected as Treasurer, Eric Jones was elected as Safety Director. The positions
become effective on June 1, 2005.
Tyina Barnes reported that we have 173 registered volunteers. This was a good
first year in getting all the volunteer forms checked and sent to National. The
board voted to accept Mary Davis as the Asst. CVPA, pending her completing the
CVPA course before the Spring season.
George reported we that the Region made $1000 on picture sales. The board will
approve any new board members before someone is given a position on the board.
There was some bad publicity in the Halls Shopper about AYSO having exclusive
use of the Sterchi Soccer Complex. We have offered to let soccer teams play games
on the fields but not practice. AYSO teams do not practice on the fields, nor
should anyone else. We need everyone to RSVP about the appreciation dinner to
be held on December 12 at Great American Steak and Buffet. George also needs a
count on who is planning to attend the section meeting. Everyone is reminded that
this is not a vacation, but a training session. You must attend the training sessions.
We also need to register early to get the discount.
The November board meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
