The June Board meeting for Region 337 was held on June 12, 2007. At Tommy Schumpert
Park on Rifle Range Road.
Board Members attending: George and Pat Burgess, Drew and Becky Burt, Jason DeRosa,
Vickie Easterday, Kellie Gilliam, Teresa Guy, Liesl Harrison, Mike Moody, Susan
Unbehaun, Karen Batey Chris Mott, David and Michelle Rogers, Cat Seagle, Amy and
Lynn Waller, Laura Walters, Melissa Range and Leanne Hinkle.
The meeting started with our new Area 5B Director Michael Mayes introducing himself
and his wife and young son. He told us we were doing a very good job. Michael
wants everyone to remember the five principals of AYSO. Michael talked about each
one of the principals. He said that the Area Staff was here to support and to
be a resource for the Region. Michael told the board that he planned on working
on communication between the Regions and the Area staff. He said that George was
doing a very good job and for everyone to give him their support. Michael said
he would be pushing training on all levels.
There was no Treasurer’s report. We have bought new goals and done some
field maintenance but should still be in good shape. Sharon Wise is going to step
down from her Treasurer’s position. If anyone is interested, please let
George know. If you have not turned in your individual budgets, please do so by
June 30th.
We are starting a new season so everyone must update and turn in a new volunteer
form. Volunteers may do it on line at eAYSO and mail it to Pat or bring it to
the next board meeting.
Field Manager, Chris Mott reported that we have one U10 complete goals and a full
set for U8’s. The sprinklers are currently working but will need work in
the future.
Kellie Gilliam is working on the Regional Guidelines and will have her proposed
guidelines ready for board members to approve.
Amy Waller (assistant R.C.) has talked to the county about the policy for dogs
in county parks. They are not allowed; therefore, we can have signs made informing
the public of the policy.
Region 337 will be able to send certain teams to the National games in Hawaii
in 2008. Right now, it looks like it will be U12 girls, U14 girls and boys, U16
girls and U19 girls. Estimated cost is $30,000.00 per team. We need to decide
how we want to form the teams and start fund raising soon.
The Region needs a new logo. There was talk of a contest for the players to design
one.
There are new lockers in the storage building. Having stuff in an orderly fashion
will be a great help for being able to find something.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10.
Respectfully Submitted,
Pat Burgess
