The February board meeting for AYSO Region 337 was held on February 8,2007 at Faith United Methodist Church. Board members attending were: George Burgess, Pat Burgess, Russ Wise, Cat Seagle, Lynn Waller, Amy Waller, Kellie Gilliam, Vickie Easterday, Drew Burt, Becky Burt, Becky Kaman, Jason DeRosa, Kim Hatfield, Mike Horner, Tyina Barnes, Bill Mize, Chris Mott, Melissa Range, Rick Roth, Laura Walters, Terry Wilshire and David Lister.

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. The first item on agenda are plans for Soccerfest. Sean ? (A friend of Kim Hatfield’s), would like to do any T-shirts we need. He also had a chair that is a popular style for outdoor sporting events that he can personalize (right there, at the fields). He will give us a percentage of his sales.

Cat Seagle reported there are around 900 players registered with more coming in every day.

Treasurer reported we have between $35,000-$45,000 with quite a few checks to still be deposited.

Any new coaches will have to fill out a Volunteer form. Division Commissioners need to get a list of all coaches in your division to Tyina or Mary. They cannot do their job without COMPLETE lists.

March 3rd is the day to get the fields ready for the opening games on March 10. Chris Mott would like some help from anybody able to do so on that day. We have one set of new goals and plan to replace one set each season. We can also patch some of the existing nets with extra nets that we have on hand.

There are 300 jerseys on order that will be here by next week. The cost is $13.95 each. The old-style jerseys will be distributed among the coaches, and some will be for sale. The new jerseys are the reversible type, solid blue and solid white. Players can continue to use their current jerseys.

Bill Mize has 21 referees signed up for training. There are 8-10 re-turners and the rest being new ones. All the coaches have been told that they MUST have three referees (active) for any Area and Section games. The Referee Administrator and Regional Commissioner will not sign for any team that does not have 3 active referees and a parent volunteer. George has told the Area and Section tournament directors to reject any forms that do not have the RC and RA signature or 3 referees.

Terry Wilshire reported that coach-training dates would be posted on the webpage as soon as the sites are confirmed.

The individual division team numbers are: U6 has 48 teams, U8 have 23, U10 no numbers available, U12 have 15, U14 6 teams, 1 definite U16, and 1 maybe. We also have 1, U19 have one girl’s team and it is full. The coaches’ meeting is set for February 13th here at the church.

Amy Waller has come up with an excellent plan on balancing teams that will start in fall season of 2007. It needs to be talked up around parents so they will be ready for implementing the plan. Each team will start with a core group of around six players.

New player clinic for U8 and above will be February 17. The new player clinic for U6 and above is March 3rd. Both clinics will be at the fields on Rifle Range road. From 9 am until 11 am. Contact Laura Walters for more details, or just come out ant help.

ALL board members need to take the BASIC course. You can do this on-line, or attend the class on Feb. 20 taught by Rich Guy.

Rick Roth is going to make a sign for display on game days that will be a conduct reminder for all persons at the soccer fields on any given day. People will be asked to leave if they choose not to abide by the rules.

Meeting adjourned at 8:35p.m.

Respectfully submitted
Pat Burgess
Regional Secretary
