Sandra Harbinson told the board there are 951 kids registered for the spring season and 1484 kids for the 2004-2005 year.
Theresa Gray reported we have $30,527 in the checking account. This is before the section meeting expenses. Liesl Harrison is the Regional Auditor.
Dates and times for the referee classes are posted on the web site. Coaches need to encourage parents to take classes.
There are 168 coaches registered in eAyso. 75 have signed up to coach this spring. 35 will need training.
In the U6 division we have 27 teams, down from 44 in the fall. U8’s 30 teams, U10’s 26 teams, U14 have 5 and 3 U19. We are still getting late registrations daily. Sharon Wise would like to form a U8 team from Wesley House kids. It is possible to get Grant money to help cover the cost for them to play. Board voted unanimously on this proposal and everyone agreed these kids would have what they need to play.
Board voted to go ahead and pay $60 a load to Clinch-Powell to deliver and spread the gravel. Practice fields are set and coaches can pick one at the coaches meeting. We need to invest in a fertilizer spreader.
Eric Jones ordered 200 first-aid kits that will be given to each coach. Instead of buying cold packs we can buy zip-lock bags and get ice from the concession stand.
There will be 4 teams in the VIP program. We have 3 certified VIP coaches. Amy Waller, Crystal Jones and Eric Jones.
Eric Jones has ordered 150 jerseys. The subject was brought to everyone’s attention that the building is staying open during games and some people have been seen helping themselves to jerseys. If you open for any reason make sure you lock it back!
New player clinics will be Feb 19 for U8 and up and March 5 for U6’s. Clinics run from 10-12. Laura Walters encouraged everyone to come and help out or just watch.
Rich Guy was very impressed with the clinic the Lady Vols put on for us. They would like to come out to the fields and do more. Rich suggested we start doing clinics and other activities on Wednesday nights. He also wants to include other regions if they are interested.
We will have a can-food drive through Second Harvest in March.
There were some complaints about Lawson's pictures and the fact that he wants one of the board members to do the scheduling. George is going to give the contract to Mike Horner to see if this is part of the contract.
At the section meeting several members found out that AYSO could own property. We have outgrown our fields so we will be looking into possible ways to fund the purchase of land in the future.
Tyina Barnes is planning a Soccerfest meeting at her house Feb 18th at her house. Anyone with ideas please attend.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30.
Respectfully submitted,
