The April board meeting for AYSO Region 337 was held on April 12, 2007 at Faith
United Methodist Church.
Board Members attending: George and Pat Burgess, Drew and Becky Burt, Lynn and
Amy Waller, David and Angela Lister, Jason Derosa, Tyina Barnes, Mary Davis,
Vickie Easterday, Kellie Gilliam, Rich Guy, Becky Kaman, Mike Moody, David and
Michelle Rogers, Cat Seagle, Laura Walters, Sharon Wise, Amanda Hart, and Leanne
Hinkle.
George opened the meeting by recognizing Mike Moody for removing the concrete pads at the pavilion. He broke up the concrete and then moved it to another location. The pieces will be re-used to fill the washed out spot close to field 1.
Regional budgets are due by the June board meeting. Sharon Wise said she would
be glad to help anyone that needs it in preparing budgets. If you have any receipts
that need to be turned in for re-imbursements, they need to be in. Starting
in June you must turn in receipts for re-imbursements within 60 days of purchase.
Balance in checking is $55,000. Sharon Wise and Liesl Harrison will be doing
an audit soon.
Jason DeRosa had Referee Feedback Forms that all referees need to complete and return as directed on form. During the coming months we need to have a plan on recruiting referees. There is a shortage of refs and that puts a strain on ones that have to do games all day.
All the divisions are re-scheduling games because of Spring break and rainouts. Coaches need to remember they have to go thru their Division Commissioners in scheduling make-up games.
Volunteer recognition day will be May 12. More details to come later.
The Region has a News Letter; you can pick up you copy at the fields. Leanne Hinkle is our News Letter Editor. If you have any announcements, news stories, photos or anything to add get them to Leanne before April 26 so they can be in the next newsletter. We want to try for at least 2 per season and possibly one during the summer. The summer issue would be mailed out to players. It will have registration information in it.
Do NOT schedule make-up games on Fridays. Fridays are the day the VIP players have their games and do not need any distractions or balls being kicked onto the fields where they are playing.
David Lister is working on getting sponsors for Soccer fest. The U6 Jamboree
will be May 12th. If you can help, please sign up to do so.
The NAGM meeting will be in New Orleans, starting on May 24. George, Amy and
Lynn will be attending. George will have the items he will be voting on by the
next board meeting. George will also have a list of the candidates for National
AYSO President and National Board of Directors.
.
Tyina Barnes informed the board members in attendance that she does not want
her name on the ballot (to be re-elected CVPA) for the election to be held in
May.
She feels that her integrity has been questioned about some issues and would
like very much to have these resolved before her term is up.
The election to be held in May will be for executive staff positions. If any board member has a desire to run for a position they need to let George or the nominating committee know. It was also brought up that if a member could not be at the May meeting could they vote by Proxy? George will check and see if that is procedure.
The region needs to update their own policies (these DO NOT take the place of the National Regional Guidelines that we operate under. These will be specific policies for Region 337.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30.
